Automated download of lots of files from same website

The solution I am talking about in this article is a very small and light weight Google Chrome extension called the Download Master and when you open any webpage / website in chrome, it automatically crawls all the downloadable content on that page. It shows you options to manually select what all links/files you want to download by simply checking the boxes in front of these files. Find files you’ve downloaded on your PC. Download Manager keeps track of pictures, documents, and other files you download from the web. Files you've downloaded are automatically saved in the Downloads folder. This folder is usually located on the drive where Windows is installed (for example, C:\users\your name\downloads).  · uSelect is a great way to save time on downloading multiple files, but it’s also made for websites that display links to actual source files. Selecting files is made easy with simply dragging a rectangle around them as opposed to highlighting each and every link.

Python provides different modules like urllib, requests etc to download files from the web. I am going to use the request library of python to efficiently download files from the URLs. Let's start a look at step by step procedure to download files using URLs using request library−. 1. Import module. import requests. 2. Go to the website with the files you want to download a. Click on Zotero's little yellow folder icon in the browser bar; b. "Select all" (or select whichever files you want from the list) and click "OK" c. wait patiently until all citations + PDF files are downloaded; For QA, count the number of articles on the website. Remember this. I would like to automate the process of visiting a website, clicking a button, and saving the file. The only way to download the file on this site is to click a button. You can't navigate to the file using a url. I have been trying to use phantomjs and casperjs to automate this process, but haven't had any success.

One can easily download the web directories by iterating recursively through the website! This is a browser-independent method and much faster!
