Torrent always downloading metedata

 · Certain magnet links are stuck on "Downloading metadata". Restarting the torrent do not work. Pause and Start. Restarting qbittorrent do not work. It shows many seeds and peers but it is not fetching the torrent file. Both uTorrent and Tixati is able to download the torrent file. I'm on Windows 7 and when I use a magnet link with utorrent it sometimes gets stuck at downloading mets-data, if that happens I just restart utorrent, and it usually connects right away with peers on the restart and begins the download. I never have this .  · Functionally there is NO difference between the magnet link and the "get torrent file" link. One gets the torrent metadata from the swarm, the other comes in a file. The latter will always work, when it is available. It is available for smaller swarm because sometimes it is difficult to connect to a peer that can reliably deliver the metadata.

This issue is revolved by restarting the application. In my case, it won't close properly either, so I force kill it. After restarting, it will download the metadata. After some time, any new torrent will be stuck at the metadata stage again, and so one has to keep restarting it. I don't know any better solution. The torrent shared is appreciated. I create multithreating program on Windows, in which every thread creates it's own libtorrent::session object. Torrents stuck at downloading metadata (qBittorrent and Deluge, Windows 7) I know this is a common problem, I've checked a lot of forums and found no solution. I have over DHT nodes ( as I'm typing), the torrent never gets metadata, but in the peers column, it has between 1 and 3 within the brackets and sometimes 1 outside the brackets. Add magnet link: stalls at metadata downloading (usually, sometimes it works as normal). Turn off proxy, wait for metadata to download, turn on proxy and it keeps downloads. This is using docker inside a FreeNAS VM of RancherOS. The proxy used is privateinternetaccess.
